We’re radically rethinking anxiety and depression.  Not as brokenness. Not as a disorder.

But as protective messages from your body, shaped by lived experience and current circumstances. That’s why we use science-backed, trauma-informed coaching, nervous system education, and physiology-first tools to help you actually feel better.

A modern approach to mental health

SCIENCE-BACKED, TRAUMA-INFORMED SUPPORT

Does any of this sound familiar?

“Everything feels like a band-aid. I want to actually heal.”

“I know I need help, but I don’t want to rehash the past over and over again.”

“Everyone’s telling me it’s in my head, but it feels like my whole body is off.”

“I feel like I’m being bounced around the system with no real answers.”

“I’ve done therapy for years, but nothing’s really changed.”

“My doctor said everything looks normal, but I don’t feel normal.”

“I’m overwhelmed by all the advice. I need someone to help me make sense of it.”

“I’m worried this is just how I’ll feel forever.”

“I want to know what I can do to actually feel better, not just talk about it.”

You don’t need another diagnosis.
You need a different approach.

→ Movement
→ Connection
→ Sunlight
→ Self-compassion

And we miss out on the healing that happens when we meet our underlying human needs:

Here’s the truth: anxiety and depression aren’t personal failings. They’re your body’s way of saying, "something needs care."

When we focus only on silencing symptoms, we miss the why behind them.

That’s where we come in: with science-backed tools and whole-human support to help you heal.

If therapy or meds have helped but not healed, you’re not alone

We’ve worked with hundreds of people who’ve felt the same way you do:

🅧 Burnt out on symptom management
🅧 Overwhelmed by conflicting advice
🅧 Quietly wondering if this is just who they are

Not because they weren’t trying.
But because they hadn’t been given the full picture of what becomes possible when you work with your nervous system instead of against it.

You deserve to feel like yourself again

We don’t just ask “how are you feeling?” We work with you to understand why you feel that way and what you can do about it.

THE REGULATED LIVING APPROACH

In other words: we’re not here to hand you a meditation app and call it a day.

We work with people who’ve tried it all—and are still searching for something that clicks. Through science-backed coaching and practical, everyday tools, we help you create lasting change through small, sustainable shifts.

Because when you understand your nervous system, everything starts to make more sense.

We call it the science of healing.

Hi, I’m Amanda  I’m a neuroscience and trauma-informed coach and the founder of Regulated Living. What you’ll find here are the tools, resources, and support I wish I had earlier in my own healing journey.

I’ve been where you are: stuck, frustrated, and let down by traditional methods like medication and talk therapy. When those approaches plateaued, I started to wonder if this was just how life would always feel, or if maybe I was too broken to truly heal.

Everything began to shift when I started to understand anxiety and depression through a nervous system lens. Since then, it’s become my life’s work to help others move beyond symptom management and into root-cause healing.

I went on to earn my Master’s in Kinesiology: Exercise Psychology, where I conducted research on the bidirectional relationship between depression, movement, and social support. I also spent five years at Google HQ designing and leading innovative mind-body health programs as a Health and Fitness Specialist. In 2018, I left that role to dedicate myself fully to making this type of mental health support more accessible through Regulated Living.

I believe there are powerful ways to work with your physiology to heal your psychology—and that no one-size-fits-all approach can meet the needs of a whole human. At Regulated Living, we use a research-backed, trauma-informed approach to help you reclaim your life in a personalized, sustainable way.

Hi, I’m Annique!

I’m a trauma-informed coach and ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with nearly a decade of experience in supporting clients through deep healing and nervous system regulation.

Before becoming a coach, I worked as a midwife—an experience that gave me a profound understanding of the connection between the body, mind, and nervous system. That holistic lens continues to shape the way I support clients today: with compassion, respect, and trust.

Like many of the people I work with, I’ve navigated anxiety, panic, grief, and unresolved trauma. And when the traditional routes weren’t enough, I sought out alternative tools, such as Internal Family Systems, polyvagal theory, and somatic practices. The same modalities that helped me heal are now the ones I’m honored to share with my clients.

Hi, I’m AJ!

I’m a registered nurse and trauma-informed mental health coach, and I believe there’s nothing more important than healing, supporting, and strengthening your mind and nervous system.

My passion for mental health started early because I lived it. I experienced trauma, emotional struggles, and deep feelings of powerlessness, guilt, fear, anxiety, and loneliness from a young age.

I spent 15 years in therapy, tried multiple medications, and explored countless methods in search of relief. While some tools helped, I still felt stuck. I couldn’t get to the root of what was going on—until I discovered coaching and started working with my nervous system. That’s when everything shifted.

Through coaching, I began to understand how the brain functions, how past experiences affect the present, and how our daily actions influence mental well-being. For the first time, I found a path that felt doable, sustainable, and empowering. I was finally able to replace fear and guilt with self-compassion and confidence.

Since then, I’ve spent hundreds of hours coaching individuals through anxiety, depression, and nervous system dysregulation. I want you to know: healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Rebecca Goodare

Hi, I’m Rebecca!

I’ve been a certified coach since 2017, and I know firsthand the powerful impact that understanding the nervous system can have during the healing process.

For years, I lived a life that looked good, but never really felt good. Eventually, I hit complete burnout and shut down. That experience forced me to confront the unsustainable levels of stress and high-functioning anxiety fueled by my productivity-based self-worth.

Now, I help clients understand that lasting change is possible. There are real-time tools that give us more choice in how we think, feel, and respond—and more capacity to show up in our relationships with ourselves and others in a way we can feel proud of.

My work is grounded in a whole-human, whole-health approach that reduces shame and gets results.

Lauren Sanchez

Hi, I’m Lauren!

I’m a Family Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach—but beyond the credentials, I’m a mother, a healer, and someone who has walked through burnout and imbalance myself.

I spent over 12 years in nursing, including 5 as a Nurse Practitioner, caring deeply for others, often at the expense of my own well-being. It took experiencing a miscarriage to really wake me up. That moment reminded me that if I wanted to help others live in alignment, I had to start living that way myself. I had been pushing through, ignoring my body’s signals, and putting my own needs last for far too long.

That loss taught me that healing isn’t just about managing symptoms—it’s about reconnecting with ourselves, our environment, and the natural rhythms of life.

I believe our health is deeply intertwined with the world around us: the food we eat, the sunlight we absorb, the seasons we move through, the energy we align with. At Regulated Living, I integrate medical science with holistic healing to help you find balance, regulation, and true resilience.

AMY

“I’m not scared of my symptoms anymore.”

I used to spiral the second I felt anything. I didn’t know what was happening in my body. I just knew I couldn’t handle it. Now I get it. I understand I still have hard days—don’t we all? But I don’t feel powerless anymore.

JOSH

“I finally started to feel better.”

I felt like a zombie on meds. I can’t be a zombie in my line of work. I’d done therapy. I’d tried the medication. But nothing actually changed. Then I found Amanda’s podcast and started coaching with AJ—and it just made sense.

Willemijn

“Since doing Restore, I’m finally starting to feel like myself again.”

I kept thinking, ‘Why can’t I get it together?’ I’d tried everything—books, therapy, mindset work. But nothing stuck. Then I found Amanda’s podcast. This was the first time someone actually explained why I was feeling what I was feeling. That alone was such a relief. And now, since doing the Restore program, I’m finally starting to feel like myself again.

Alexandra

“Working with AJ helped me understand what was actually happening in my nervous system.”

I’m not waking up in dread anymore. I used to feel like I was drowning in my own thoughts, always waiting for the other shoe to drop. I’d spend months worrying about going to the doctor. Now, I can go to the doctor without having a panic attack.

Jillian

“The tools and deep work I did with my coach gave me my life back.”

Before this program, life was a roller coaster. I was having regular panic attacks and felt out of control. The structure, practices, and coaching calls, the way every piece of this program was personalized to me was incredible. I truly thought I’d tried everything, but this, this was it for me.

Lynne

“I’ve been given a toolbox and a new narrative.”

I’ve done talk therapy, I’ve been on meds, and this program is what gave me my life back. I no longer look at my dark days as a forever state, sometimes it’s ok to be unwell, I just needed to know I had the tools to dig myself out. I now have the capacity to feel feelings instead of burying them. I came into this hopeful but skeptical, I’m not skeptical anymore—I tell everyone about this.

Sophia

“My life is so much better now because I know I always have help near.”

Life looked hopeless and dismal. Every day was a struggle to regulate my emotions. I felt out of control, and my thoughts were chaotic. Every day felt hard, like I was just spinning my wheels and not moving forward. I wanted to be a better mom, wife, friend, and honestly just better for myself. It was amazing to find a program that offered such a personalized approach with so many tools.

TL;DR A decade of personal experience, academic study, fieldwork, and a deep commitment to doing things differently.

“If you’re not a therapist, how’d you get here?”
